Letters from the bench

Journal.

Short notes from the atelier. Published as they're written, not on a schedule. Four times a year, give or take.

  1. N° 003 · 15 April MMXXVI

    What a setting must survive.

Scratches, salt water, daily motion, decades. The diamond is the easy part. The metalwork around it is what is asked to wear out.

  2. N° 002 · 8 April MMXXVI

On the laboratory: not romance, but honesty.

A lab diamond carries its answer in the seed crystal and the temperature log. There is nothing to hide because there is nothing hidden.

  3. N° 001 · 1 April MMXXVI

    Why we keep four pieces.

Limitation is a discipline. We could design twenty rings; instead we design one until every carat feels right.

Letters by post (electronic).

Four a year. No promotional noise.
